Next Meeting of Morningside Community Council - 20 August
THERE IS NO MEEING IN JULY, so the next meeting of the Community Council is Wednesday 20 August 2008, at 7.30 in the Open Door, 420 Morningside Road. Tea/coffee from 7.10.
All residents and traders in the area are welcome at this and all our meetings. Read the Agenda here.

Neighbourhood Partnership -
The next meeting of the South Central neighbourhood Partnership will take place on Monday 11th August 2008 at 7pm, in the Prestonfield Room at Pollock Halls. Staff from the Council and partner agencies will be available from 6pm to 7pm to provide an opportunity to ask questions or raise local issues.

Morningside and Bruntsfield Gazette. Published by Scotsman Publications; features local news, stories and personalities and has a comprehensive events listing. 702 Gazette. A locally produced independent advertising magazine which includes articles of interest and photos supplied by local people, charities, businesses and clubs. There are 5000 copies distributed monthly and 15000 different homes in the area receive a copy each quarter. Action towards re-opening the South Suburban
A petition has been laid before the Scottish Partliament calling for the re-introduction of local passenger services on the Edinburgh South Suburban Railway. The leader of the City of Edinburgh Council, Jenny Dawe, has expressed her wish for the re-opening. A committee of MSPs is now examining the case.
