Susan Wong

It is with tremendous sadness that we have to tell you that Susan Wong, the Chair of Morningside Community Council, died at home on Thursday 14 August after a few months' illness.

Susan had been a member of Morningside CC for more than ten years and our chair for eight.  As well as serving us extremely well during those years she was also a much respected member of various health committees, and very involved in other organisations to do with health, patients' rights, disability and disadvantage of many sorts.  Susan was passionately concerned about the rights of the disadvantaged.  She always kept us up to the mark on equalities issues in everything we did, whether on grounds of disability, race, or gender.  But her passion was not only for the general principles.  She cared deeply for people and a large part of her life was spent helping individuals and giving of herself for them.

Susan will be very greatly missed by many.  We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family and those closest to her.
